The driver is an obligatory component of the software of any device which can be one way or another established or connected to the personal computer. The main objective of the driver consists in providing standard access to the device to other programs and an operating system. It is meant standard access to the tuner that any program can operate this device (to switch operating modes, to be adjusted on TV/FM program, to carry out record of video and so forth) without having thus special information on a configuration of concrete model of the tuner, its element base and ways of connection to the computer.
Programs work with the tuner as with the standard device of video capture which after installation of the driver is registered in an operating system in "Sound, Video and Game Devices" group ("Sound, video and game controlers") a device manager.
That the Behold TV program and as programs of other software producers, could work with the tuner as with the standard device of video capture, in an operating system WDM/BDA the tuner driver has to be established.
The Beholder® company delivers for all line of TV-tuners the uniform unified WDM/BDA the driver for the Microsoft® Windows 2000/XP/2003/MCE/Vista/Seven operating systems, including support of two platforms – x86 and AMD64 (32/64-bit operating systems).
